I was having a hard time keeping up with 2 blogs; so, I decided to combine the girls' blogs into one. I will no longer be updating at this address. Our new blog can be found at: www.aepuccino.blogspot.com

On September 12, Makenna turned 5 months old. About a week and a half later she learned to sit on her own. Within a week, she was an expert. She can bend, stretch, and twist without toppling over.
At 5 months, she also started eating baby veggies. So, far she has liked them all. She also loves to snack on MumMums (rice rusks) and crackers.
Her favorite toy is her All Star Stage (mirror with mini piano and other musical buttons). She also likes her exersaucer and touch and feel books, although she still doesn't like to be read to.

New Adventures with the Woolseys
The Tuesday before last (Aug 31), I took Makenna on her first picnic at the wildlife refuge visitors center. Alycia and her girls joined us. I don't think Makenna enjoyed the heat outside, but she definitely had a good time touching, exploring, and banging on everything inside the visitor center. Thanks for the pictures Alycia!

That Thursday we joined Alycia and her girls for dinner at Kobe. It was Makenna's first time in a restaurant, and she did great! It helped that the chef provided the entertainment.

Flip Flop
Makenna is always put to sleep on her back, but when I went in to get her last Monday, this is how I found her.

She has been able to roll from her tummy to her back for awhile now but until recently had only gone from her back to her tummy a few times. Now she is a pro. She flips back forth with ease and even flip, flopped, and wiggled her away across her playmat this afternoon.

4 Month Check Up
Makenna's 4 month old check up went well. At 4 months and 11 days old she weighed 11 pounds 12 ounces and measured 23 1/2 inches long (toe nail tips to pigtail tops). Dr. Legako said she looks great and that her growth curve is "perfect". He also said she is ready to start eating cereal 1 to 2 times a day and in a couple weeks can try veggies.

1st Solid Food
Last week I gave Makenna some rice cereal for the first time. She was stoked! As soon as she saw the spoon she opened her mouth and dove for it.
